Is this suitable for a single academy trust, or only large MATs?
The seven duties apply regardless of size. What differs is how you evidence them, a single academy trust might have one governor minute where a large multi-academy trust has a formal policy covering every school. The check is looking for evidence, not scale.
What if AI is used in a safeguarding or exclusion decision?
If AI is being used, or could be used, to make a final safeguarding or exclusion-related decision without a named human decision-maker, the assessment marks this Oversight Required regardless of your other answers. Every source in the sector's guidance treats this as a bright line, not a matter of degree.
